From The Desk of Michael Nicklaus
Greetings friends, As we approach the halfway point of 2018, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you our company’s celebrations and community endeavors so far this year.
First, I would like to formally welcome our newest team members. In Florida, we warmly welcome Penny Burke, Kyle Crotty, Maria Diaz, Heather Holt, Victoria Slater, Laurie Strand, to our North Palm Beach office, and BJ Levitt, Laura Levitt, and Toby Feller join our Delray Beach office. In South Carolina, Ellen Allen and Ann Marconi join our downtown Charleston office while Bill Britton, a seasoned agent and Seabrook Island developer, Diane McCoy, and Caroline Suefert join our Kiawah/Seabrook team. All of our new real estate professionals are highly respectable and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company.
Additionally, I’m thrilled to introduce Trish Murray as our new Director of Business Development. A native of Palm Beach Gardens, Trish previously served as the qualifying broker for the state of Florida for Zip Realty, a national public company. In this role, she managed five offices with more than 600 agents. After retiring to spend a few years at home with her youngest child, she decided to reenter the real estate industry and serve as Director of Business for Sotheby’s International Realty. Now, she is joining NV Realty Group where she will primarily focus on talent acquisition, individual/group training and personal coaching for team agents, business development, and residential and commercial real estate sales growth.
Secondly, I’d like to highlight a few company and community events with which we have been involved:
Continuing the Nicklaus Legacy of Giving
In previous years, NV Realty has participated in the CureNFwithJack golf tournaments at my family’s home course, Lost Tree Country Club. This year, our team took to the water in Palm Beach to help raise money for research and awareness in the fight against Neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder found in children that causes tumors to grow on the brain and throughout the body. The dreary weather did not dampen our team’s spirit and even Captain Jack was all smiles at the event. I was excited to learn that a new clinical trial has shown promising success. With continued research and monetary support, I am hopeful that a cure for NF is forthcoming.
A Commitment to Local Artists
This month, our Broad Street office hosted its first Local Art Initiative Reception, featuring artist Tammy Medlin, who is known for her en plein air (outdoor) paintings. Bourbegges, the neighborhood grocery and deli, on Broad Street catered the reception, and guests enjoyed southern appetizers, wine, and lowcountry art. Back in February, our Kiawah/Seabrook Office held its fifth event in the the Local Art Initiative series. Featured artist was Kiawah resident Shar Duffy, who specializes in oil-based landscape work.
Our company began the Local Art Initiative Series as a way to support and showcase local artists in the Charleston area. Twenty-five percent of proceeds from sales goes directly to the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. To date, this company-led program has generated approximately $10,000 to the hospital’s building campaign. Both Mrs. Duffy and Mrs. Medlin will continue to give a portion of their sales to the hospital through the month of July.
Weekend Getaways
Each year, we take a group of our agents to Muirfield Village in Columbus, Ohio. We are able to relax, play golf (or at least hack the ball for Todd), and eat our weight in buckeyes. This year, our group had the opportunity to tour the Columbus Zoo, courtesy of family friend and animal advocate, Jack Hanna. We made some great memories, and I’ll never forget the look on Tom DiSarno’s face when a BEARCAT climbed up his leg. He was a good sport!
Charleston RiverDogs Baseball Game
In Charleston, our team had an evening at “the Joe,” the moniker given for the remarkable Joe Riley Stadium. From the air-conditioned press box, we enjoyed watching the Charleston RiverDogs play baseball, eating a delicious buffet-style meal, sipping on beer and wine, and talking shop with each other. Partly owned by Bill Murray, the RiverDogs are the only local minor league team that is associated with the New York Yankees. Todd and Clary brought their oldest two children, J.J. and Lilly-Kaye, and I brought my boys Michael, Vance, and Gray with me. Baseball brings out the jovial spirit in all of us, and the NV group thoroughly enjoyed singing along to the promotional Disney songs; taking pictures with Charlie, the RiverDog’s mascot; and, of course, rooting for the home team.
New Office Locations
Our deliberate transition from Golden Bear Realty to NV Realty Group continues to be a seamless one, and the response from current clients and clubs is enthusiastic and positive. To that end, I’m pleased to announce we have a new office location in Tequesta, Florida! Located at 130 Bridge Road, this office space will allow us to extend our reach from northern Palm Beach County and into Martin County. In other news, we have moved our Delray Beach office a few blocks down the street to 70 SE 4th Avenue. I attribute our continuous and strategic growth to the tireless works of our administrative staff and the excellent professionalism of our agents.We are excited for the final six months of 2018, as the year is shaping to be one of our best yet.
